My name is Gemma Seager aka Ms Chick, and I have a degree in Media & Film Studies from Southampton University. I launched the Retro Chick blog in 2008 as an outlet for my passion for vintage, fashion and writing and it has since grown to become one of the UK’s top vintage fashion blogs (Cision Media 2010 and 2011, Most Wanted 2010 and 2011).
In March 2011 I launched Vintage Norwich, a local site showcasing the best of the vintage scene in my home town of Norwich, which quickly became established as *the* place to find out what’s on in the area and has been featured by Visit England, The Guardian, Company Magazine and Spanish Glamour.
In September 2012 I launched a third site Lipstick, Lettuce & Lycra documenting my journey in starting to run and trying to lose weight.
I write on many topics, but I have extensively covered Vanity Sizing and have featured in several national newspapers on this topic and made radio appearances on Women’s Hour and Moncrieff!
I have a real passion for vintage style, but I’m not a vintage purist. I love to mix vintage, high street and reproduction clothes to create the look I’m after, and I do it on a serious budget. I like nothing better than to bring a little bit of glamour into the drudgery of every day life, and I think everyone, no matter how busy, can do the same.
My career portfolio has been varied and so far includes writing, public speaking, hair, make up and fashion styling, organising events and the occasional spot of modelling.
Please do check out my portfolios, and contact me if you want any further or have a project you’d like to work with me on!
